Original Spooky Woman Shoshone Falls

I scanned the photo on the left as a 75dpi jpg. The photo on the right is a gif image stolen from a Web site. The spooky woman had just prepared for a halloween party. The stolen photo is a poor shot of Shoshone Falls on the Snake River in Twin Falls, Idaho. The falls, higher than Niagra, is 212 feet high and you can see about half of the falls in this photo. Lots of water flows in the spring but most goes through the power plant the rest of the year. There is another photo that shows all of the falls at the bottom of this page. I have some much better slides of the falls but don't yet have a slide scanner. You can definetly see the results of color reduction from these images being saved as gif files.
So, what can be done with these two images. Let the arithmetic begin.

Image Addition example This is the result of image addition. The divisor was 3 and the bias was 15.

Image Arithmetic Subtraction This is the result of image subtraction. The divisor was 1 and the bias was 15.

Image Arithmetic darkest This is the result of image darkest. The divisor was 1 and the bias -15.

Image Arithmetic lightest This is the result of image lightest. The divisor was 1 and the bias -15.

All of Shoshone Falls

This is a view from the air showing the whole of Shoshone Falls. About 2 miles west, which is down stream, is the place where Evel Knievil made his attempt to jump the canyon on a motorcycle. He was actually successful in getting across the canyon but when he deployed his parachute the wind caught it and blew him back south causing him to end up in the canyon. Five miles east, which is up stream, is Twin Falls. There used to be two falls side by side there. Now there is only one as the the other has been dammed for use by Idaho power to produce electricity.
